In the screenshots the event listing shows a Google map below the event details. I have the settings set to display Google maps, but only the link to the Google map is showing in my listing. Is this a premium feature, or should this work? I am using the latest version, just downloaded it today. I switched to the default theme to see if it was a theme conflict but still no map.

  • Hey joand. Thanks for the note here – no, that is not a PRO-exclusive feature. Have you made sure to enable the overall setting (under Events -> Settings), and turn it on within the event entry itself (https://d.pr/i/JzY6)? Notice the two checkboxes: one for the map button, the other for the map itself. When I check that out on the frontend the map appears like so: https://d.pr/i/uxXZ.

Let me know if that isn’t the source of the problem – if you’re trying those steps and finding the problem persists, my guess is a theme conflict of some kind. But we can cross that bridge when we get to it.

Thanks for your patience and support so far.

Hi Rob, thank you for the reply. I do have Enable Google Maps turned on in the settings, but oddly there is only one check box in the events “Show Google Maps Link” and that does work fine to create a link to the Google map, but there is no second check box as shown in your screenshot. Mine looks like so:

That is why I was not sure how it was supposed to work. I tried on a different browser and on a different computer, and I tried changing back to the 2012 theme, but still no map box.

I am using WordPress 3.5 and 2.0.11 of your plugin.

Hey joand. Sorry it’s taken me some time to get back to you here; based on your screenshot, it’s weird because it seems the system is not registering your selection under the broader Events settings.

What other plugins do you have active here? Anything map-centric, specifically? If you’re in a position to deactivate plugins, that might be helpful…sounds like we know it’s not a theme conflict at this point but I’m wondering if a plugin might be at fault. That’s the best bet I’ve got at this point.

Hi Rob, the site has not gone live yet, so I was able to deactivate all the plugins except for The Events Calendar – but still no second check box

Hey Rob, I am not sure how it happened but the Show Google Map checkbox has magically appeared!! I did manually reinstall the plugin the other day, as I had installed it through the WordPress installer originally and thought something might have somehow gone wrong, but still no map. Anyways, I just logged in now and the box is there, so maybe was a cacheing issue or something.

    Hi joand,

Glad to hear this got resolved for you. Let us know if there’s anything else you need help with.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

I am still having the same issue as the previous user. I have cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled both manually and through WordPress installer, but the Show Google Map button/checkbox option still does not display.

    – Running child theme in Genesis framework
    – Other plugins used: Connections, Gravity Forms, Social Pop, Wp-Members, Advanced Menu Widget and BackupBuddy

    Please advise.

    Hi bgmosssr,

What version of the plugin are you running? Have you tried deactivating all other plugins?

    – Jonah

The latest version from the website – 2.0.11.
Yes, I have deactivated all other plugins and still am not able to see the other Google option.

    Hi bgmosssr,

Can you provide me with wp-admin access so I can take a look? You can email to pro [at] tri [dot] be attn. to me and please reference this thread.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

Thanks, but I am developing locally before I load to the server – I’m still in early in the development of the site.

I see, well if you can deploy your website remotely somewhere I’d be happy to take a look at this but unfortunately outside of that there’s not much else I can do.
