• Is it possible to disable the use of the maps from Google like the hybrid map?
Google has a new pricing plan for using Maps API, valid beginning June, 11th. It is free of charge up to $200, but Google wants to have my credite card number. I don’t want this.

Thank you very much for this nice plugin.

  • I’ve got the same problem.
Although I only use Open Cycle maps the map showes “API key required” and a notice that google cannot be loaded correctly on this site followed by the question “do you own this website?”
I would very much appreciate having a possibility to use this great plugin without a google connection.

Same for me. The Plug-In looks very nice and I would like to use it, but it doesnt work propperly without a Google-API Code. I tried some hacks, but it will take too much time …

Even choosing OSM1 as MapType GoogleCode is loaded … an alerts with a message “do you own this website” …

thx for the work, but I will look around somewhere else.

With the new 1.6.0.1 release the plugin works as intended! (that is: a can use an open cycle map without having a google account). Great and many thanks!!!

Too bad that the solution of the writer was to take out Google Maps support completely, making it virtually useless to other people (like me)

I rolled mine back to 1.5.05 and so far it works as intended with google maps. I’ve seen some sites with google maps that have a low rez “developer” watermarked all over it. (Has to do with google’s new policy on google maps usage) Luckily mine still has the high res version. Hope it will continue so work for a long while.
