Google Maps widget is scrolled into view on page load

    I have the Google Maps widget in use on my site. On each page I use this widget, the page automatically scrolls down to the widget on page load.

    I couldn’t find any setting either in the widget settings or the global widget settings to prevent this behavior.

    If I activate the Require consent before loading Maps API settings, as a side effect, the behavior disappears. But I don’t want that setting to be active.

    hi, thanks for reaching out.

    When able, please, try a few tests to isolate the cause of the issue.

    * Temporarily switch to the parent theme, does the issue persist?
    * Temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen, does the issue persist?
    * Temporarily deactivate all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin, does the issue persist?

    I filed this question to stackoverflow and it shows, that this is a bug feature in the Goggle Maps API.

    To resolve the issue, I could set the widgets settings in the Markers section: ‘When should Info Windows be displayed?’ from ‘Always’ to ‘Click’ or ‘Mouse over’.

    Maybe you could add a setting to change the behavior, so that the InfoWindowOpenOptions are changed to have shouldFocus = false?

    Thank you for the additional information. I’ve implemented the suggested fix here and created a patched version of Widgets Bundle for you to use until the next WB update. You can download the patched version by clicking here.

    Before proceeding, do a backup.

    Open your site and navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins and deactivate SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, and then delete it. Scroll to the top of the page and click Add New, Upload Plugin and upload so-widgets-bundle.1.20.0.1.zip. When prompted, activate SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.
