Hello, as the title suggests I’m having issues getting my product feed live.

Here are some screenshots of my feed config and merchant center outcome.

    My observations:
Looking at the product feed itself, the weight attribute just isn’t there. even though it has been assigned. Its not coming through.
So is it my config? Or a plugin? I have followed through step-by-step 3 times. From completely uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling. I have also read through others threads on here seeking answers, although others having issues seems related to unique configurations.

I am using a very standard WooCommerce setup. The only shipping related plug-ins we use are “Advanced Free Shipping (supported) and “FedEx Shipping”, since that’s who we use for outbound deliveries.

Additionally. I have been able to successfully take a complete product feed live using “WP Product Feed Manager.”
Although it works, it does not support product variations or allow a feed of over 100 items. Therefore, looking for a more appropriate to my needs solution. Here are links to what that setup looked like.

  • Hi touchplateled,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with adding weight to your feed(s).

Most likely this is caused by the fact you mapped a wrong attribute to Google’s g:shipping weight field on this page:
    https://prnt.sc/ph0oyv

Changes are you have your product weight information saved in an attribute that’s named differently. In what attribute are you saving your weight information and can you find that attribute name in the drop-downs? If so, please change the g:shipping_weight mapping and map it to that correct attribute.

    Hope this makes sense?

    All the best,
    Eva

    Eva-

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. What you are saying makes sense. To provide insight to where I input my shipping weight, into WooCommerce on the Edit Product Page.

After looking at what you mentioned about the weight being on another attribute. I did notice this was in it.

I am currently in the process of rebuilding the feed and testing with the new parameter. Truth be told, I was impulsive and removed the plug-in while testing.

Fingers crossed, I would be thrilled if I am able to use your plug-in to successfully launch our entire product feed and continue using Google Remarketing as an outcome.

On another note: After removing the plug-in and purging my cache. This was still stuck in my code.

It was causing an error creating a 2nd GTM Tag.

    Hi touchplateled,

Keep me posted if the creation of your need feed worked and now contains weight informtation. Don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected] when it does not and need a hand.

With regards to the GTM tag: our plugin doesn’t add any GTM tag at all?

    Best,

    Eva-
Looks like the suggested change fixed the “shipping_weight” problem. After looking through the backend a little bit to better understand.

The plug-in, “Woocommerce additional product identifier fields” converted all the WooCommerce input points into Dynamic or Custom Attributes. Fortunately for my case outside the default “weight” there was only one other attribute with the word weight. easy to find.

After updating my product feed I successfully loaded 313 items with only 4 products “missing shipping_weight.”
The 4 Products that were still missing this information were created using “WPC Product Bundles for WooCommerce.” I went back and manually entered the combined shipping weight of these products vs. the calculation the plug-in provided. I will know in a few hours if that resolved that aspect.

**Shipping Weight Issue Solved** THANK YOU SO MUCH!

About the GTM tag. The Screenshot of the GTM tag in my code was taken when “Product Feed Pro” was deactivated & deleted from my WordPress Site. I was getting errors of a double GTM instance from the Tag Manager Assistant (Doing Codeless Tagging *so weird).
And the second instance of the GTM was the image I sent.

Since, I’ve now planning on using your “plug-in” the thought isn’t a problem. Oddly enough, the second instance vanished and all my tags are now green after reinstalling.

    That part I can’t explain.

Update: The feed loaded faster than expected. The 4 bundled products still error with shipping weight.

I might just exclude bundled items from the feed in the future since they are always limited time offers.

    Hi touchplateled,

Good to hear you managed to solve the largest part of the weight issue! Our plugin supports the official “Woocommerce Product Bundles” plugin. From your explanation I understand your bundled products have been generated with another plugin so that might be causing an issue or maybe those 4 bundled products do not have a weight attribute (or not filled in)?

I will checkout the Woocommerce Product Bundles plugin.
The plug-in did generate weights and placed them in the standard box on the woocommerce product page. I even manually entered the combined weight to force an over-ride.
Still no luck. I blame the bundle plugin.
I’ll just suggest promotions that don’t require bundling in the future, no headaches =).

Thank you again for all your help and for being so quick to respond! Your expertise was direct and clear to understand. I am very grateful I reached out!

    Hi,

Assuming the issue at hand has been resolved and our support is no longer required I am going to close this topic for housekeeping reasons now.
