    Hi,

I recently installed the latest version of WP Rss Multi Importer and to date have found it very useful. I have embedded and displayed feeds from major newspapers, and youtube, easily and successfully. However, I want to import and display a custom newsfeed from Google.

So far I have followed the advice from Google ( https://www.google.com/alerts ) and created an alert, and then captured the rss feed.
So far so good, after adding it in ‘ad feed’ the feed validator declares it to be a valid atom feed, althought with a lot of errors highlighted in yellow. But trying to fetch items returns the ‘There are no feed items in the database’ response.

Has anyone managed to successfully capture and display a custom news feed from Google? If so, I would be very grateful for some advice.

Unfortunately I cannot show a website link as I’m working on a test site in localhost.

    Thanks

Further to my post above, I’ve now managed to get a feed from google in place by following the instruction below:

‘By default, the plugin uses a forced feed setting for SimplePie. By checking here, you can turn this off’.

So far so good. However, the problem is the thumbnail photos are not being displayed. I would like therefore to turn off the photos just for this page using a shortcode. Could anyone suggest a suitable string to achieve that?
    Thanks

Answering my own qusstion, I have managed to turn off the photos but the problem remains with the photo captions which skew the results on the page.

So if anyone knows a suitable shortcode for disable photo caption I would be very grateful.

    Thanks
