I am running a blog at https://www.edeving.se and all my posts are indexed like a charm and visible on google search 1 minute after I post it.

But there is a trouble with my static pages. Google will just not index the content on them. XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.0.3 puts them in the sitemap.xml but google just won′t index them. The won′t show up at all when I search “site:edeving.se” on google.

UPDATE: I have NO robots.txt that may block any robots from indexing the static pages.

This is a problem for me as I just put up another site that only contains static pages and that will be big troubles in the future if I can′t solve this.

  • Hi. Google is indeed indexing your pages.

I don’t speak swedish, but I just copied the phrase “Hydro i Str?ngn?s varannan helg” into google, which directed me immediately to https://www.edeving.se/om/ as the first result.

That’s a page, so they are indeed indexed.

One explanation for the reason you cannot google them yourself, is that perhaps google’s results for the keywords you’ve chosen to search for are ranked too low to display prominently when the search is conduced FROM Sweden.

Google takes into account the origin of the person searching when displaying the search terms – so that may have an adverse affect, although in this case, I don’t see why.

PS: If you’re inclined to share, I’d love to know how you’re doing your weather forecast in the sidebar. Is it from a global weather source? Very nice looking.

Hi and thanks for your fast reply, Ivovic.
I did also get a #1 hit when I searched for that sentence on Google, but not on almost any other sentence, even that it is pretty unique.
From the “L?nnasj?n” page I tried googling for:
    “Ekl?ngen i Barva”
    “L?nnasj?n ?r kopparf?rgad”
    and some other keywords

From the page “Om” I tried googling for “Jag heter Mathias Edeving” which only brings up two posts, not the static page.

Probably the static pages doesn′t have near as much traffic as the posts and that′s why they won′t show up high ranked, or ranked at all. I′ll try to add more text which brings more unique keywords that I can try to search for later.

Still, a search for “site:edeving.se” don′t show the static pages, only the posts and some post from an old blog I had on this domain a year ago.

Regarding the weather forecast, it is a plugin called WP-Forecast found here: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-forecast/#post-2361

cheers for the plugin link Edeving ??

There’s a good chance that the static pages are not ranked at all given that they don’t have frequently updated content like your other pages.

I’m sure that’s why they don’t appear in your site-search. Nevertheless they *are* in there.

I’m sure that will change when google gets around to ranking your static content, which I’ve read can take up to three or four months.

That’s why frequently-updated pages are always ranked higher.
