    Hi there,

I’ve setup a Google Cloud billing account, created the API key and enabled the Static Maps API. But it’s warning me that I need to setup the OAuth consent screen.

I have a choice between Internal & External user types, but both descriptions give me the impression this method won’t be supported by your plugin.

Should I leave the OAuth consent screen unconfigured?

@hateaharriers – I don’t think you need to complete any OAuth setup for the Static Maps API because it’s not interactive. I’ve never had to at least. Can you try it without completing that step and see if it works?

Sure we will try it. Thanks.

I’ve used the shortcode on this page, but it’s not loading the map, I just get a broken image icon.

Ok fixed it.. it wanted me to setup billing. And the OAuth isn’t required.

Can you recommend any Application restriction settings for the API key? It’s completely open at the moment. If I restrict it to my websites domain, would that impact the way it works within your app? As in do I need to add any exclusions for your app?

I would restrict to the domain(s) you wish to display the images on.

ALSO, version 2.11 (released today) provides Mapbox support. The maps look great (same service the Strava site uses) and it’s *much easier* to set up.

Thanks, that’s awesome, I’ll just switch to Mapbox I think.

Great! I did as well. It’s so much easier and the maps look better too.
