Google Pay (Gpay) not displaying in checkout?

  • Hi,

    I recently integrated Google Pay (Gpay) in my website through Stripe.

    Works well on the product page and cart page but it’s not displaying anywhere in the checkout page as a payment option. Is this normal ?

    Yes, this is normal. Payment request buttons such as Google Pay and Apple pay are disabled on the checkout page for clarity reasons. You are able to enable them with some custom code. Guidance on this is here.

    thanks for the quick reply.

    I applied the code and it worked and I understand why it’s not there by default.

    However, I noticed the Google Pay option is not available in the radio buttons payment options towards the bottom of the page. Is there a way to display Google Pay as a payment option in the checkout page without displaying the button at the top of the page ?

    Hi @kitebud,

    By default, Payment Request buttons don’t show up where the other regular checkout methods show up but at the top of the page. You’d need customizations to make it show up along with other payment methods.
