This calendar Plugin ist great for managing the event dates of my hometown, but I’ve got a problem at Google+.

At Google+ u can share a link to posts of your blog, but instead of showing the post title it shows the title of one event.

I manage the Google+ account without any plugin for automatic sharing on Google+, so I do not know how to get rid of this posts title problem. Is there an option I missed to configure?

As example I have linked to the Google+ post to show the problem.
When you look at it you will see, that the posts thumbnail of the post is correct but the posts title is from an event, that is normaly have to shown at the event calendar.
But if you click on the embedded posts title it is leading to the correct post, that I#ve written onto my hometown blog.

  • Hi @marcus_p,

Thanks for your interest in our products — sorry to hear that you are having issues with linking your posts.

I haven’t seen this before, but I have seen how some themes handle page titles a bit differently because they use an uncommon method of calling for page titles.

Are you able to temporarily change your theme to something like Twenty Seventeen and then try to link your posts again?

    Take care,

    Hi @erishel,

sorry for the delay of answering.

I’ve tried to change back to any standard wordpress twenty xx themes, but was unsuccessful.

I don’t know if it is really a problem with the events calendarplugin, but it’s mysterious that the title on G+ is showing an event title, instad of the posts title.
As I know the titles of WordPress Posts and the Event Calendar Posts have different declarations, or not?

Is it possible to fall back to an previous Version of the plugin by copy only the files to the plugins folder?

Because I use the Events Calendar Plugin since a longer time but I’ve never noticed this kind of problem.

I noticed it since the last two updates so I will try a version fallback to clear out if it’s the plugin or not. ??

    Best greetings,
    Marcus

Hey Marcus, sorry to hear that didn’t help.

The Events Calendar titles are displayed the same way in most themes — what’s strange is that events aren’t connected to posts in any way…

For rolling back a couple versions, you can try WP Rollback.

    Hope that helps!
