• Hi,

The feed is working perfectly for me. Just one issue I am facing – unable to get the right google product category to show up. When I choose ‘category’ in google product category field mapping, it automatically chooses the first category that the product is in and generate google product category code accordingly. When I choose ‘Yoast primary category’ (which I’m using for product category), the category name shows up, but code is not generated. How can I assign the google product category id that is corresponding to my Yoast primary category?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

I am not entirely sure I understand the issue at hand. What the category mapping feature does is allowing you to map your own WooCommerce categories to those of Google’s category taxonomy. When you than leave this default field mapping in place (https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2x822yhnmtm2l05qwhxq8/Screenshot-2024-03-08-at-09.23.44.png?rlkey=agqfijmeogdko64eg2p3vfwda&dl=0) our plugin will put the right Google category ID in your feed.

    Does this help?

I have many product categories which makes sense in the website, but is not required for the product feed. The feed fetches the first category a product is in and associates the google product id with it. However, I would like the google product id associated with the Yoast primary category that the product is in.

I think the solution is to not assign a google category to the categories I don’t want to be considered. When only 1 google category is provided out of all the categories that a product is in, it picks the right one! Thank you!
