Hi, We noticed that although in the feed generated, it has availability values without the underscores, like out of stock, etc. However, we are recently noticing that the products that go into the feed with “out of stock” are being set to “in stock” even though the feed processes without errors. We are on an older version. Question is – Is it supposed to be adding the _ to the feed, so it is like out_of_stock? Any ideas why they are out of sync when we submit? Thanks!

    Hi there!

    Thank you for reaching out!

Based on your description, it sounds like the feed is correctly processing the product availability values (e.g., “out of stock”), but there seems to be an issue with syncing stock statuses after the feed is processed.

To answer your question about the underscores: WooCommerce typically uses underscores in certain meta fields or for custom attributes, but for product stock status (like out_of_stock or in_stock), it should not automatically add underscores to the availability status. The feed should use the values as they are (e.g., out of stock without underscores), and the product’s stock status should match the feed’s data if set up correctly.

You mentioned you’re on an older version of the plugin, I recommend updating to the latest version of the plugin, as there may have been fixes for this issue in more recent releases.

If the issue persist could you please provide more finromation exactly what plugin you are using for your google feeds?

Also, could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Download for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please upload it to this chat.

For anyone curious, I think I figured it out. In the ademti Google shopping feed for woocommerce, both backordered items and out of stock items have the same “out of stock” value in the feed, but only the out of stock ones were getting marked as out of stock when submitted. It looks like for our products that are backordered, they also have a schema on product page “Backorder” – Since the sumbitted values are the same, it looks like Google recognizes the Backorder schema as still available, and that is overriding the feed, and setting these to In Stock in our merchant center. Thanks!

    Hi @shagtools,

Thank you for the update and for troubleshooting the issue! It looks like you’ve identified that the backordered items and out-of-stock items are both being marked with the same value in the feed, which is causing Google to interpret the backordered items as in stock.

We’re glad to hear that you’ve pinpointed the cause of the issue. Based on your findings, we can mark this thread as resolved. If you have any further questions or run into any other issues, feel free to reach out!
