Google Product Review – amount of reviews problem

    Hi,

    I have a little problem generating feedback for google merchant.

    In the plugin, I chose the “google product review” option and created a new feed. After generating, the new feed contains 37 opinions, and should contain 52 (this is how many opinions I received for all products). Where does this difference come from?

    I would like to add that my store has products with variants.
    In the feed settings, from the additional options I have selected:
    – include product variations
    – and only include default product variation
    – And only include lowest priced product variation (s) (temporarily off, I don’t notice any difference to default variation).

    After disabling “include default product variation” feed is very huge and generates 650 items instead 52.

    Will be grateful for tips.

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

    When you have 1 review for a variable product with 10 variations than every product variation will get a review in your feed, hence 10 times the same review. That explains for the 650 products.

    When you enable the “only include default product variation” you can prevent that from happening and the review will only be added for the default variation. When you have less reviews in your feed than expected then this can be caused by:

    • Not all variable products have a default variation set
    • Reviews without text or without a reviewer name are being removed by the plugin automatically

    – all products have defult variation
    – all reviews have name (its required by cusrev to send reminder) but sometime customers makes blank review (just stars, no text).

    When you fill in one word in the review text than the review will be added to your feed again yes.

    I mean system that prevents customer to add blank review.
    I think it would be good if at least one word (or amount of characters) would be required to add review

    Update: ah, I didnt see in settings – there is an option to require comment. Now i turned it on!

    Perfect, Google requires there to be a comment so that is why we leave out reviews that have no comment otherwise you would get disapprovals in your Google Merchant Center.
