    Hi there,

I’ve taken the proper steps to set up Google Recaptcha by copy and pasted both required keys into WPForms settings (Google Recaptcha V2 tick/check box), however, it doesn’t show up in any WPForms that I’m using.

After referring to the publicly available resources from your end, I’ve tried to ‘check’ the “non-conflict mode” but the problem still persists.

We are running the latest version of Astra theme and WordPress. It would be great if you can help us out.

Looking forward to your response. Thank you

  • Hello @kimbong,

    Thanks for contacting us!

It seems that you might have removed reCAPTCHA from the website. When you have sometime, can you please activate reCAPTCHA so I can take a closer look?

    Thanks!

    Hi Prashant,

    Thank you for your response,

I did not remove/deactivate Google reCAPTCHA for WPForms, the settings remain the same for WPForm. It’s activated.

I believe you will be able to see it by inspecting the webpage elements?

Do let me know if you need additional information. Thanks!

    Hello @kimbong,

I looked at the website and was able to see the reCAPTCHA files. When you have sometime, can you please test the form again, as I’m able to submit the form and reCAPTCHA seems to be working fine for me? Here’s a screenshot for a quick reference.

    Thanks!

    Hello Prashant

Is the reCAPTCHA not supposed to show up before you submit the form?

The screenshot that you sent only shows that you were able to submit a form. However, the problem now being reCAPTCHA is not “active”, hence unable to detect and prevent any spam.

I’ve tested with the same email address multiple times, forms was successfully submitted but reCAPTCHA did not show up.

Or could the case be it doesn’t show up but act as an invisible reCAPTCHA v2 and only show up when it detects any suspicious activity? But I’ve set it to be reCAPTCHA v3 on WPForm.

Looking forward to your clarification. Many thanks.

    Hello @kimbong,

That’s right! As you are using the Invisible reCAPTCHA it won’t show up on the front end of the website. Having said that, the spam protection feature is still active, and reCAPTCHA will give an error when it detects any suspicious activity.

Further, even though you’ve selected V3 reCAPTCHA, in Google console it seems that you’ve generated an API key for the invisible reCAPTCHA. Here’s a screenshot for a quick reference.

If you wish to show the reCAPTCHA badge on the front end, please consider generating an API key for other reCAPTCHA in the Google console.

    Thanks!
