Google Recurring Events

I am importing a Google Calendar but none of the “recurring events” are displaying on my calendar — or on the widget. The only way they display is if I go into edit each initial event and click on UPDATE . . . but then when the import refreshes, I lose all of my changes.

Very frustrating — please help!
