• I am having a problem where the meta description on my site in Google’s search results has everything right but it recently added “error.” to the end. I searched the site’s source and inspected elements all over the home page but couldn’t find the word error anywhere. I’m wondering if anyone knows what might be causing this or if there’s a way to fix it or find where it’s coming from?

    Thanks!

Please provide the URL for your site.

Bear in mind that there could have been an error on your site when Google crawled it but that error may have gone away now. You can try resubmitting the site or that specific page to Google via Google Webmaster Tools.

    Oh, the URL is https://www.patricktilghman.com

I’m not sure what page the “error.” is coming from, but everything else in the snippet is from the home page, so it’s probably there?

    Its coming from here –

Its being generated by something called WP Content Copy Protection so you need to contact that plugin developer and figure out why that plugin is generating a hidden error that Google can crawl.

    Okay, great, thank you!

Could this problem be fixed by removing the plugin and updating/resubmitting the sitemap?

Possibly, I don’t know that plugin and I don’t know why it’s generating an error so I can’t answer that. You can certainly try it.
