When i test the: Google Rich Test Results> Product Snippets.
The Woocommerce Product Snippet text detected “Description” shows text taken from the main area of the Woocommerce Products Body Description area.

But if i also have filled in the Woocommerce “Product Short Description” area, the text seem to become replaced what was before showing the Text from the full body description area, now show the products Short Description.

    Should this be happening?

    Hello 9ball,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand you’re noticing that Google Rich Test Results shows text from the main product description but switches to the short description if it’s filled in.

Could you share a screenshot of the Rich Test Results and the URL of the product page?
This will help me assist you more effectively.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Hi,

Yes that is correct “Google Rich Test Results shows text from the main product description but switches to the short description if it’s filled in”.

As i’ve removed all the short descriptions now off the website now, so that Google Rich now picks up the text from the main description only, also this was happening on my other website as well, but the short descriptions have also been fully removed off that website as well..

    Hi @9ball,

    Should this be happening?

Yes, this behavior is standard for WooCommerce. When both the Product Short Description and the main product description are provided in WooCommerce, the Product Short Description is typically prioritized in the schema markup. This is why you’re seeing the short description text being picked up instead of the full body description in Google’s Rich Results test.

If you’re looking to add custom schema markup to your products, there are several third-party SEO plugins available that allow you to customize your schema.

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any more questions.
