Google Said What? are multisites ‘blog networks’

    Not sure where else to ask this.

    I’m offering multisite subsite blogs to customers that are all in the same related niche. I’m suggesting that links from this network (with their original related content) to their main primary website hosted elsewhere will benefit the SEO of their main site.

    Is/will Google penalizing this type of backlink? is this a blog network even if it is all a related niche?

  • It’s impossible to say how Google will view your site, multisite or not, without being an actual Google employee privy to such information.

    But yeah, this sounds pretty close to a “blog network” to me. Just because the blogs are in a related niche won’t necessarily disqualify it from being considered a “blog network.”

    I’d be very careful with this strategy, if I were you.
