Google Schema Warnings “description”

I have a to be confirmed fix for that in the development version which you can download at https://github.com/futtta/wp-youtube-lyte/archive/master.zip

After installing make sure the LYTE cache is cleared, if need be checking with this trick.

If this indeed works, I’ll push this out as an update.

Hello Frank, Installed the Github version, cleared Cache, was able to start fix validation for “Missing Thumbnail url” :Missing Name” and “Missing Upload Date” but attempting to validate fix for “Missing Description” it keeps throwing errors

the page you tested indeed still has one video with an empty description, but when adding that video on a draft post on my blog, I so get the description fallback (title) in my HTML;

so the fallback logic does seem to be working.

I think the video got stuck in cache somehow, try using this trick to see and remove stale cache.

I have zero experience with Custom Fields but I did add the snippet into my child theme functions.php (adding a few post IDs), cleared YTL Cache also WP Fastest Cache (connected to Cloudflare)

I checked page source for a post that I did NOT include in the snippet and it now shows FULL video description.

Google: For “Missing field “description” Validation Started & Pending for all 200 instances.

Started a NEW validation request for Missing field “name”
Left thumbnail and upload date alone for now, didn’t want to pi$$ off Google

instead of doing those long validation requests for your entire site, I’d suggest to first and foremost check HTML source + use https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool to test individual pages ??

Thank you for working on that!
I have checked my website and it seems that it does not work with Version 1.7.8 officially updated by WordPress updater.

The Google-Check tool does not recognize them as videos:

When I some days ago asked the Google Search Console to validate again, it failed this weekend.
I have just asked for revalidation and looking forward to recieve the result. I will write you them again.
