• After launching a new version of our clients site Google Search console claims it is unable to verify the site receiving the following message

“Verification failed for https://www.fairfieldresidential.com/ using the Google Analytics method (less than a minute ago). We found a Google Tag Manager snippet in your site. Your Google Analytics snippet is probably managed there. You can verify site ownership with the Google Analytics asynchronous snippet placed in the <head> section of your home page.”

We are using GTM to manage the GA UA tracking code, 2 of them following the same site.

We had selected Footer for the placement of the GTM code. Would like more input on the other 2 choices, especially the one that states “right placement, no tweak” but experimental.

Want to avoid crashing the frontend.

    Hi,

There is another verification method in Search Console witch uses the Google Tag Manager method. You should try that one.
