• Hi,

I know this is come up before but I have been looking back at old posts and haven’t been able to fix this.

When you google my site, the description I wrote doesn’t show up – instead it shows ‘Ruth Stokes is proudly powered by WordPress and Clean News Theme by Code & Stuff. Entries (RSS) and Comments (RSS). | Valid XHTML.’, which, strangely, isn’t even visible on my actual site.

How do i get it to show what I want? I’ve installed the SEO title tag…

I know in threads before that people have said it just happens over time, but I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to make it happen immediately? Thanks,
    R

  • I notice you don’t have sitemap.xml, i would use All in SEO pack and Google Xml generator plugins, these two plugins are important and very useful.

You can submit sitemap.xml to webmaster too, it will help google to index your contents.

    Hi Kim09,

Thanks very much for answering. Sorry – is sitemap.xml a plugin?

Have installed All in SEO and Google xml now…

    Cheers,

    Ruth

    Hi ruthstokes

Google XML generator is a plugin. But the files, sitemap.xml is a file that helps search engines to index your site’s content.

If you already installed the Google XML Generator plugin, and activate it, then this file will usually be in https://www.ruthstokes.com/sitemap.xml

You don’t need to create the file yourself, once this plugin is activated, the sitemap.xml file will be automatically generated by the plugin.

Here is an example sitemap.xml after you activate Google XML generator plugin.
