Google Shortening Meta Description Text

Bizarre one this and I can’t seem to find out why or where its coming from

I have set my home pages meta description from the home page and left it for a good week now and it seems it is being shortened by Google somewhere

Set from the home page Yoast >> https://imgur.com/ovSLunw

Google Search result >> https://imgur.com/1wFk2Am

Bing Search result >> https://imgur.com/cqEDKsh

Ive checked the results across several browsers, and various analyzers which say the description is good, but what im stumped with is why is Google shortening it to about 84 characters

Any ideas ?
