Ok we are testing with some sites to get the GDPR messaging to work with Google Site Kit and Google Adsense.

    • We activated Google Site Kit on the website
    • Linked all accounts including Google Adsense
    • Made a new message in Privacy and Messaging overview in Google Adsense

The consent notice won’t show nomather what we try.

Any tips or advices? We don’t want to use another plugin for it. You would expect to just get the Google Consent Notice to show after syncing with Site Kit.

Thanks for reaching out @nextdayonline. If you’re looking to implement a consent manner, there are plenty of plugins that allow you to do so. Although you did mention that you don’t want to use another plugin, we don’t have any such banner available within Site Kit.

I did also notice that you do have some consent configurations applied on your site, so it is important that users are able to provide consent, as opposed to losing their site visit in Google Analytics based on them not being able to consent.

With regards your query on tips or recommendations, see this guide, which mentions a couple of known plugins confirmed to work well with Site Kit. You can reach out to the support team for assistance with any of these plugins as you wish.

As also have a guide on the Site Kit website in relation to Consent Mode within the plugin. While it does require a third party plugin, it may give you a better understanding of how it works.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Hi James,

The question still remains how to get the Google consent notice without using a third party plugin. I have seen it working on other websites using still an old snippet from the fundingchoices solution from a year or two ago.

We just want to show and use the Google Consent notice (without any plugin). The guide in Google Adsense states that when implementing the Google Adsense in your header the consent framework from Google should appear. This isn’t the case.

We don’t want any third party cookie plugin to get it operational, only the google solution.

Hi @nextdayonline. You can use AdSense alone to configure a consent banner, although I believe this is specific to advertising. You’ll find out more on this here.

In relation to Analytics, unfortunately we’re limited to Site Kit support here in the plugin support forums. Using a third party plugin is the easiest method of ensuring users can easily provide consent. If you don’t wish to do so, you can follow this guide in order to set up consent mode manually, without a plugin, This can be done through a custom placed Google Analytics snippet or Tag Manager. The product experts over at the Analytics Help Center should be able to assist with any queries on this.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
