    Hi,

I have recently installed the Google Site Kit plugin on my WordPress page, but it won’t set up any further steps because it tells me my page “may not be ready for Site Kit.” I have looked on google and through other forums but I cannot seem to solve the problem. I have purged all pages with the caching button and I have deactivated almost all of my other plugins. nothing seems to be working.

Here are some technical information that may be needed:

    https://www.rosanacampos.com.br WITH:
    Self hosted
    Windows 10 Pro
    IIS
    Dynamic DNS
PHP V7.414 (I’ve discovered WordPress third party isn’t ready to V8.01 yet)
    MySQL 8.0

    DNS zone:
    rosanacampos.com.br A 54.80.62.227
    rosanacampos.com.br MX 1 albertocampos.ddns.net
    mail.rosanacampos.com.br CNAME albertocampos.com.br.
    https://www.rosanacampos.com.br CNAME albertocampos.ddns.net

(the first one redirect all http to https)

Https certificate made by win-acme (Let’s Encrypt)
Using No-IP for DNS redirect and sendpulse as SMTP.

Lot’s of plugins, but that is not the problem. I’ve already tryied to deactivate all of them, uninstall your plugin, install it again. No gain.

Trying to install your plugin in a fresh installation is of no use.

It seems the problem is with self-hosting in DDNS.

The WordPress Diagnostics plugin report no error.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

Thanks for reaching out, and providing the troubleshooting steps undertaken so far. While you’ve already attempted setup with your other plugins deactivated please follow the steps below. This will deactivate plugins once more, while using a core theme with no caching interference:

    1. Login to your admin panel from a Chrome browser incognito window
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to setup Site Kit once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

Please share your experience after attempting the above. Should you encounter any error messages along the way or be unable to proceed please share your Site Health information privately via this form, along with any related console errors or dashboard notices.

Note also that from checking your REST endpoints the JSON output seems to be invalid, so there may be underlying issues with your current REST API setup, which may be impacting Site Kit setup.

    1. Done. Chrome. Incognito.
    2. Downloaded. Uploaded. Installed. Activated. Done.
    3. Done.
    4. Done.
    5. Done.

It’s a big messy to try to tell here whats me and what’s pasted from the web, but I will try to be clear.

    Initial message:

    `Set up Site Kit
Get insights about how people find and use your site, how to improve and monetize your content, directly in your WordPress dashboard

Seu site pode n?o estar pronto para o Site Kit
Looks like your site is having a technical issue with requesting data from Google services.
To get more help, ask a question on our support forum and include the text of the original error message:

    Reiniciar Site Kit`

I’ve tried it all again, from the begining, by clicking “Reiniciar Site Kit” (reset Site Kit). The result:

    1. Made login on google – ok. Result:

    `Este é o Kit Site! Vamos come?ar

    2. Thus Site Kit installed sucessfully. But, here is the problem all over again:

    `Set up Site Kit
Get insights about how people find and use your site, how to improve and monetize your content, directly in your WordPress dashboard

Seu site pode n?o estar pronto para o Site Kit
Looks like your site is having a technical issue with requesting data from Google services.
To get more help, ask a question on our support forum and include the text of the original error message:

    Reiniciar Site Kit`

But, even if it installed successfully, it isn’t working. Again, I think the problem is with DDNS and self hosted certificate by Let’s Encrypt.

    Thanks for the help!!!

(btw, those tests were made in a fresh wordpress installation!)

Thanks for the additional insights. Indeed it does seem like a hosting configuration or DDNS issue. What you could do is temporary remove the secure status for this new install site and attempt setup once more, while also checking for any WAF or Firewall rules that may be impacting setup.

You’ll find some WP CLI steps to check your hosting connection with the Site Kit service here.

Let me know if you’re able to proceed after removing the https status on this new install site. You’ll need to reflect your new URLs in your WordPress general settings configuration. If you’re able to proceed we can then troubleshooting further with your https configuration, with some useful insights for security cert setups and cURL issues on Windows environments contained here.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved.

Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist, in particular as other users may also be impacted by similar IIS hosting setups.
