• I am trying to verify our site ownership on Google Site Kit in Word Press. I have gone through every forum. Tried all different ways. Watched videos. Downloaded plugins to assist, NOTHING IS WORKING! I am at my wits end.

Someone please help. I am at the four stage process of “Have Google verify site ownership”. I click “Verify”, it thinks for a moment and then says “The necessary verification token could not be found on your site. This may be related to your site using a page caching plugin. Please flush your home page cache and then try again.”

I came on here to lodge a topic in a forum, and it kept telling me my login details were wrong and do not exist. So I have now had to create a new account just to post this. The Word Press website account is not linked to this one.

Have you acted on this? Have you done what the plugin is asking you to do?

Your site is being cached by AWS Cloudfront CDN. So Google is seeing an earlier version of the page which doesn’t have the code. That’s why the error message is asking you to flush your cache.

Note that the cache to flush here is the site’s cache (whatever you use to manage the Cloudfront CDN cache), and not your browser cache.

The login for your own WordPress-powered website is totally separate from, and is not in any way connected to, the login here at www.ads-software.com. That’s why you have to create a new account here to log in and post a support query.

    Hi George,

Thanks so much for this. Everything you said was a big help and makes so much more sense now.

Yes – I only cleared the internet browser cache. I downloaded a pulgin called Digital Pixies and tried to follow the steps that another forum told me. What do I do from here? How do I rectify this issue so that I can allow Site Kit to verify my website? I am not sure how to clear the cache on the actual site
