Google Slug Incorrect

  • Hi There,

    I have been using WP for several years, but this is the first time I have started a site from scratch. I am using WP 2.8.6 and the Atahualpa theme. The site is narwo.com. Google indexed the site within two days, which made me very happy, however there is a problem and I do not know if it is WP, the theme, or google that is causing it. When you do a Site:narwo.com in a Google search the article titles come out fine, but the text ‘slug’ is gibberish. Rather than creating the slug from the body of the article it is using the first item on my left sidebar, which happens to be a calendar.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • There’s nothing wrong with page slugs such as narwo.com/?page_id=2. However, if you want “pretty” permalinks/slugs, have a look at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Using_Permalinks

    As you can see the google text slug is messed up, it is taking the calendar on my sidebar as the text to describe the page.
