Google still showing image attachment pages.. at the end of my wit.

  • Google is still showing a whole bunch of image attachment pages (damn that looks soooo bad) even though the sitemaps seem correctly generated.. I set things up to only show pages and one CPT.

    I’m not sure this is even within the scope of the plugin but seeing all thes images shown as content results is really depressing.. I only have this happen with one site.

    I tried to ask Google Webmaster tools to remove a whole bunch of those nasty links.. to no avail. I’ve been doing this for weeks and nothing seems to work, so it’s not like it’s a timing issue, it should have fixed it by now.

    Bing returns results correctly.. but Google has decided to make my life miserable.. what do I do now ?!?

    What can make it so that Google does not obey the sitemaps and settings ?!?

    Today I’m trying this:

    but I wonder if it is going to cause further problems.. in conjunction with SEOPress?

    Is its functionalty redudant to the way SEOPress handles image attachment pages ?

    PS: Also I use WPML and wonder if it can be responsible for this mess.. I never quite understoof how it handles “duplicates” of images, if it create further attcment page and so on or if SEOPress is WPML-friendly or not ?!
