Google warning about PriceValidUntil

    Yesterday’s Yoast changelog includes: “Removes the priceValidUntil attribute, as it’s not sensible.”

    Today, my client gets an email from Google that says

    Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Products issues:

    Top Warnings

    Warnings are suggestions for improvement. Some warnings can affect your appearance on Search; some might be reclassified as errors in the future. The following warnings were found on your site:

    Missing field “priceValidUntil”

    We recommend that you fix these issues when possible to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search.

    So I’m thinking maybe Google thinks it was sensible. Waiting for my client to call me in a panic….

  • Same problem here.

    Actually, ‘priceValidUntil’ is related to the WooCommerce extension, which is a premium plugin.

    You should open a ticket with Yoast support for this.

    BTW, this attribute is useful when the product is on sale, in which case it shouldn’t be removed, and Google should recognise the need for it only when there’s more than one price in the markup, assuming that one is the regular price and all others are sale prices. If it doesn’t, we can ignore the warning until it does ??

    @cavalierlife We are aware of this issue with the WooCommerce SEO plugin and there is currently an issue report open with our developers. Whereas we are unable to provide an ETA as to when this will be resolved, you can monitor the issue report page for updates on it’s resolution.
