Hi. I have a big problem. Until recently I used another plugin for sitemap, (I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention its name here so I won’t mention it) and it was ok but some time in October or November (I can’t remember exactly) I discovered that AIOSEO which I was using for years also has a Sitemap so I decided to reduce the number of plugins and use AIOSEO’s sitemap function instead. Since then I haven’t checked on Google Webmaster Tools to see how its performing because I was like “ahh its gonna do fine, I set it up correctly, just like the previous plugin so it will all be ok, I won’t have any issues”.

Surprise, now 3 months later when I notice a significant drop in visitors from Google, I checked Webmaster Tools only to see in horror that AIOSEO has destroyed my website! Out of 15.000 posts, 5900 posts are now marked as “Crawled – currently not indexed” and 2600 additional posts are marked as “URL is unknown to Google”.

Here’s a few screenshots of the problems:

Despite all of this, I think that maybe its a bad setting or something I did wrong?

I need to mention that I do NOT have noindex activated on posts but only on tags, archives, stuff like that.

I also discovered that Schedule Updates in sitemaps was set to “no schedule” which I now set on “Daily”. Could this have been the problem?? Or is there another setting?

    Please help, thanks!

    [Moderator note: Please, No bumping.

It’s unlikely our sitemap update ping feature has anything to do with it. Can you post your site URL and an example URL that isn’t indexed so we can take a look?

Then what can be causing it? How can I contact you privately?

you hide the URL of your website, it is impossible to see how to help you. I think it could be also related to your template and especially the robots tag or the blog category. It depends on you link to your page
