• hi there,

google simply will not verify my wordpress site.

    I have tried:

    1. adding the meta tag to my header file
    2. uploading the html file to my root
    3. installing – asof site verifier & AskApache Search Engine Verify (seperately)

and no result. Even if I look at the source of my page now I see the code:

    <meta name=”verify-v1″ content=”T8bXLAH1G8cyEKBkaj..etc=” /> sitting in my page source…I added it to the header.php

can anyone help me? I seemed to have tried all my options!

    thanks

  • I did this verification today. It was vey simple once I understood what to do. I did the HTML option:
    1. Get HTML code from google.
    2. Open up a text file. Don′t write anyhting on it.
    3. Save it to desktop. When you give the name to the file copy and paste the HTML code name given to you by Google.
    4. The result should be a file with your windows explorer icon.
    5. Open up your ftp client and go to your public_html file of your root.
    6. Upload the HTML file to this folder.
    7. Go back to Google Webmasters tools and clic on the “verify” button.
    8. This is all I did and it worked just fine.

    Hope it helps.
