• Hi, Since about a month Google Webmaster Tools is giving me an error (or warning) about sitemap issues. It tells me that “When we tested a sample of URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs redirect to other locations. We recommend that your Sitemap contain URLs that point to the final destination (the redirect target) instead of redirecting to another URL.” Here are some screen shots:

I’m using WordPress 3.14 and using Better WordPress Google XML Sitemaps, plugin to generate the XML sitemaps. I’ve checked the Headers on my pages and all come back with HTTP 200 Ok which means there is no redirect but GWT keeps complaining that there is a redirect.

    My sitemap is at: https://www.bollywoodlyrics.com/sitemapindex.xml

A sample sitemap that is giving the error: https://www.bollywoodlyrics.com/taxonomy_regional.xml

The URL that Google is complaining about: https://www.bollywoodlyrics.com/regional/tamil

As you can see there are no redirects or any hidden 301 stuff so what is the issue Google is having? I’m afraid it will start removing my URLs from index as it thinks they are bad. You can check the headers using a tool.

    Thanks
    Mukesh
