Edit: I may have found the issue, I’ll resolve the post in the week if it’s the case.

    Hello,

I’m trying to install Site Kit, but I’m getting the error google_api_connection_fail.

My website is hosted on my own VPS.

I have tried to install the mini-plugin but it didn’t fix the issue.

I have activated the extension through Health Check & Troubleshooting in incognito mode but it still didn’t work.

That’s all I have in my site health:

I have tried to install the extension on another WordPress website hosted on my server and it didn’t work either.

I can see this error in Chrome’s console:
GET https://lunaluna.fr/wp-admin/index.php?action=googlesitekit_proxy_setup_start&nonce=f4d0d5179c 500 (Internal Server Error)

I ran curl -6 -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com and curl -4 -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com on my server, and both were successful, so I don’t think that my server is blocking connections.

    Thanks for your help.

Hi?@bluebird17 thanks for getting in touch and sharing the information you have thus far. I’d be happy to assist you with this. Could you please share the following:

    1. Your?Site Health information. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred.?Please include your hosting provider on the form. The image you shared did not work so if you could share this way that would be helpful.
    2. Have you recently changed your website domain or performed a site migration?
    3. Please share any?browser console errors?that appear when checking the Site Kit dashboard from a Chrome browser?incognito window?once more.
    4. Do you encounter the same issue when trying from this URL which creates a temporary test WordPress site for you.

You can also attempt a?Site Kit reset?and try to set up Site Kit once more to see if this resolves the issue. If you have any questions let me know.
