Got the Funk?

  • I’ve been noticing that text pasted into posts (from a text editor like BBEdit) or when brought into a post via the bookmarket, tends to contain funky, non-standard characters. Usually dealing with quotes and apostrophes…
    I’m on Mac OS X 10.3.3 running both Safari and Firefox and I’ve seen it in both.

  • yeah pretty common. curly quotes are converted into junk characters…
    ms word text content comes as trash ??
    wp like plain text i believe!

    well BBEdit is about as plain text as you can get…guess it’s best to create within the browser…
