I use this plugin to add single webinar registration forms on pages for each webinar. At various times someone will check on a webinar and the registration form will not be showing. Instead an error message displays: “The webinar either no longer exists or an error has occured.”

Re-authenticating always fixes this issue but it’s pretty frustrating not knowing when the connection is going to fail. I’ve already created an App in GoToWebinar and am using the Consumer Key and Secret for authentication but the problem continues to persist.

Do you know what can be done to prevent the App from disconnecting and needing re-authenticated?

    Hi @danielpw,

In the recent past our GoToWebinar application has been more reliable than people using their own application. So I would recommend using this. Unfortunately this issue rests with GoToWebinar’s API reliability which isn’t always 100%. Thanks,

Thanks so much for the quick response. Just so I understand correctly, what you’re saying is that the App I set up for authentication is the method you recommend using?

Thanks for the heads up about the GoToWebinar API. I understand that’s out of your control.

I find that using our application, i.e. not entering your application details in the plugin settings works more reliably. Thanks,

Alright, I was under the impression based on the notes within the plugins General Options page that the opposite is true. This is what it says in the plugin “To have a more consistent connection we recommend creating an application in GoToWebinar”.

Otherwise, as you state on the options page, the connection is subject to API rate limits.

We were having these disconnect issues with the plugin before I created the App. That, along with the notes about an App providing a more consistent connection, is what prompted me to create one to use for authentication.

I’m hesitant to remove the App credentials for authentication since the original way we authenticated proved to be unreliable.

Sorry, I switched WordPress accounts inadvertently before I posted this reply!

    Hi @wiredimpact,

That was our initial recommendation. My recommendation now is whatever works most reliably for you, do that.

Because everyones application is going to be different. GoToWebinar has the ability to tweak the settings of individual applications so not all apples are the same. What you can do is use your own application but reach out to GoToWebinar API support ask them to maximise your API limits for your application. Thanks,
