GPL and YouTube

    All-in-One WP Migration plugin is licensed under GPL. The code is available on WordPress Plugins Subverion repository and can be seen, downloaded, modified etc as permitted by the GPL (I am not a lawyer).

    Recently, one video of a YouTube producer has been removed from YouTube for violating YouTube community guidelines. The producer claimed that I reported their video and that we are not respecting GPL.
    I am not very familiar with YouTube community guidelines and the different reasons why a video can be removed and account restricted but I did not report their videos/channel etc as I do not think that modifying the code in any way is grounds for violation of anything – rather, it is the spirit of GPL and I support it.

    I have also emailed the video producer to explain it to them and they since have taken down the video.
