• I ve been testing several membership plugins, most of them turned out to be unsuitable. This one has a different approach, very clean configuration with a lot of features and provides the best functionality for free memberships I have seen. Lots of plugins are anoying in that matter because they dont let you skip the cart. I cannot tell anything about paid memberships because I did not evaluate the payment features yet. I found only one drawback, otherwise I would give 5 stars. If somebody signs up for a membership, the email adress wont be approved by double-opt-in – although the native WordPress sign up provides a solution which could have been utilized. This drawback maybe dont bother if you use paid memberships. But if you offer a free membership for lead generation purpose this is a big issue. I bought a premium plugin and now I have to spend a lot of time to find a suitable sign-up-plugin to work around this issue, which is not easy because you want critical functions to work together. I hope there will be an update from wpmudev to fix it because double-opt-in should be standard these days, no matter if there is a paywall or not.

  • Hey there guiberg,

First of all thanks for the feedback and for taking time to write a review and rate Membership 2, we appreciate that ??

I agree that this would be a quite useful feature to have in the plugin. Currently our developers are working on user approval that will be added to the plugin in one of the following updates in near future. I’ve passed the feedback and idea of having email verification as well so it will be considered for future development.

Thanks again for taking time to write this, it really helps us making Membership 2 a better plugin ??

    Have a great day!

    Cheers,
    Bojan
