Great for those who use WordPress.com

  • The plugin work greats and provides loads of features that most novice users would enjoy having on their blog (although there are plenty of plugins that will accomplish the same things). In addition, the stats feature is quite amazing.

    My one (huge) problem with Jetpack? It requires a connection to WordPress.com. While this does not really bother me with things like Stats, it renders other things (like subscriptions) useless for those that want to keep users on the main blog.

    Once Jetpack implements the option to use not WordPress.com for other things, I will give it a better rating.

    Could you give me more details about this issue? I’d be happy to know if there is something we can do to improve the Subscriptions module!

    The connection to WordPress.com allows you to manage your subscriber list without having to care about email deliverability issues, email reputation, and of course server resources: since all notification emails are sent though WordPress.com, we take care of this for you.

    Your readers will have to click on a confirmation link leading them to a WordPress.com page, but they won’t need any WordPress.com account to subscribe to your site.

    If you want to access a list of all your subscribers, you can do so by going to Jetpack > Site Stats in your dashboard, and clicking on the link in the Subscriptions module. You will then be able to see and download your subscriber list.
