Great frontline support but hard to get changes made quickly

WooCommerce is a good platform however there are some things missing that should be an option by default. Plugins often solve this issues but can raise the cost of running an online store.

Can you please share the feature request you created and the missing feature you are referring to? I’d like to review it and check if there are any possible workarounds for your requirements.

Lack of priority on issues raised:

I raised my concern over reviews not being handled properly in the new attribute lookup tables and it was given priority low – It is a huge speed and performance issue for large stores. I have replied to the feature request saying please change priority to High. Disappointing response from Woo support means it will probably never get fixed.

Lacking of certain key options:

Default option to show and hide my account icon next to cart icon

Display categories above the product loop on archive pages

Display featured products first in product loop

Display featured products above product loop with heading of featured items

No option to bulk edit attributes, categories or tags

No option to save cost prices in system for easier calculation of retail prices.

Booking system plugin

Official woo plugin where there appears to be no active development. Overpriced and lacking features and logic. Plugin support and dev seem to have ignored all major feature requests since the plugin launched. Plugin has poor reviews because of this.

I hope this helps I wanted to be honest. Woocommerce is a good platform but it has a lot of areas where more robust features out of the box would give better user experience and dev experience.

• You can use the Account Block and add it to your header next to the mini cart block in block themes
• You can create a custom shop page using WooCommerce block, you can add a “Product Category Block”, and display featured products using “Featured Products Blocks”.

Some features you mentioned above are also provided by themes and you can use Block themes to achieve them by editing the templates per your requirements.

You can use plugins to achieve the above features. There are a number of free plugins that provide the above options.
