• My two web sites were recently hacked and put out of service for several days, so I really needed to find a way to make them more secure. Rublon has a great idea for setting up two-stage authentication.
However, at first, after installing this plugin, I was having problems logging in to my WordPress site again, and Rublon’s support personnel went to great lengths to solve them for me. [By the way, it’s important to know that, if you ever do have problems logging in to your site after installing Rublon, all you need to do is go to the file manager of your web host (or use FileZilla) and delete the Rublon folder, which is found in your site’s folder, wp-content folder, plugins folder.]
Anyway, getting back to my issues, Rublon sent me more than 20 emails and set up a Skype phone call in an effort to resolve them, which they finally did.
It turned out that I had 3 problems: 1) I had not set my privacy settings properly in Firefox. I now have Firefox set up to remember my browsing and download history, remember my search and form history, and accept cookies from visited sites; also I am no longer checking the box that says “clear history when Firefox closes.” 2) My PHP settings were not set correctly, and I had to call my web host to set them for me. 3) I had changed the name and URL of one of my sites after creating it, and it turned out that the old name was still scattered throughout the files on the site. As a result, Rublon was trying to take me to the old URL, which no longer exists. After changing some of these files, with the help of my web host, the problem was resolved.
Thank you very much, Rublon, for your patience and outstanding support!
