Great if OpensearchServer would actually crawl a website

    For me OpenSearchServer fails for 1 of its basic functions. Crawling is not working as it should. Manual crawling a URL works but when i want to crawl a website it always stop crawling after a few URL’s. Always the same error “waiting for child proccesses to terminate”.

    I tried:
    – installing OpenSearchServer on Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows 10 ==> never works…
    – i created an instances on their site ==> same problem
    – i tried following the instructions step by step (https://www.opensearchserver.com/documentation/tutorials/crawling_a_website.md) ==> doesn’t work
    – i asked somebody else to install it and try it ==> same problem

    OpenSearchServer is a like a car that can’t drive….to bad.

  • Just had this kind of problem when I forgot to clearly define what I wanted to crawl, like /*

    And also with few website that are crawled too fast or using a system like cloudflare, otherwise most of the time it was fine.

    But if you use it with you own website with wp plugin, you should a priori not use the crawler, but the indexer.

    @tedswiss….of course it tried that.

    It doesn’t work. Zero support. Even tried an instance on their site. Same thing it doesn’t work. They offer offer hosting services on their site but if you need support for it…non existing.
