• I am thankful for this plugin, it works. However, it has changed to an upselling device: If you are a new WordPress user I strongly suggest finding another cache plugin, this one pops up deliberately confusing and pointless upselling messages while setting it up. And they are persistent.

Had server go down and while working to rebuild site this plugin kept putting mailing list signup screens in front of the work I was trying to do, blocking off the WP admin area. That wasn’t enough, when I tried to close them it made me reply to yet another dialogue about leaving the page. If you already aren’t completely sure of what you’re doing this could put you in a position of feeling forced to sign up.

It also demanded that I stop right in the middle of my work and log into the WordPress site and rate the plugin, so I’m doing that. :^)

I would ask the programmer to reply and describe, in his own words, the kind of person who does that stuff to a user of a plugin they are offering.

  • That sounds awful. Thanks for posting about that, you just saved me from installing this plugin which would most certainly have resulted in a terrible user experience for our blog authors and a considerable waste of my time.

A plugin and its developer should be blacklisted for these kinds of things. The normal WP dashboard user experience should never be interfered with to such a degree that they can’t perform other necessary and basic WordPress functions or feel like they are being extorted when using a Plugin that has the option of using it for free. If they don’t want people only using the free version then they should not offer it.
