Great Plugin, Great Author
-
I’ve been using this plugin for about a year. I was using the free-old version for a while and then, as many mentioned here, the new version was no longer free and the previously included extensions (for free) were now also paid.
You should know the there was ample “warning” to have the option to pay and go forward . . . I think I sat on it for a couple months before paying. I used that time to research other better or more cost effective options and didn’t find anything better for my situation. I’ll admit, I wasn’t excited to whip out my credit card but I also understood the situation completely and it made sense to me. I was cool with paying for a plugin that a had a proven track record for me, as opposed to the too often – buying a new plugin that doesn’t work and the author refuses to give you a refund . . .
I basically use TML as a simple front end membership plugin, storing thousands of users to my site with no issues, ever, not in the free version or paid version, everything works simply, effectively and flawlessly.
Also, I just paid for the social extension (my users were requesting this functionality to avoid keeping track of account usernames etc). I found the plugin easy to setup with facebook because of the author’s solid and up-to-date documentation. There were a couple things I wanted customized and the author gave me the code to do it. It took a couple emails back a forth to get it right, but the author stuck with me and gave me exactly what I was looking for in the end . . . none of the typical “this is out of the scope of our support” bullshit. I really appreciated that.
