• I was very excited to find this plugin after struggling to understand the implementation of Google Tag Manager. It has step by step articles not only for plugin setup but also for Tag Manager configuration, which I found very useful.
The problem is that more than 50% of the visits were not recorded in Google Analytics.
I spent many days trying to fix this issue, with Google specialists and the Tag Assistant Chrome add-on, but I was not able to find the problem. Sometimes the visits were recorded sometimes they weren’t (especially if the visitor clicked on something before the page finished loading). Using Tag Assistant sometimes I would get a warning that the implementation is non-standard.
I tried to get some answers in the plugin support section but didn’t receive any satisfactory replies.
Regarding the non-standard implementation warning – the plugin says to insert its code right after the <body> tag, while the manual implementation of Tag Manager requires a code in the header and another in the body. Maybe this is where the issue is, but I don’t know since I didn’t get an answer from the developer.
I also installed the Facebook pixel and while the Facebook Pixel Helper (Chrome add-on) saw no errors in implementation, Facebook didn’t see the pixel as installed.

The plugin has great potential, but… too bad it has time-wasting issues and its support is sub-standard.

    Hi,

I am sorry that you had such an experience, please let me reflect to some of your concerns:

If am correct you are referring to this thread:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/problems-with-analytics-and-facebook-pixel/

You are right that I was not able to respond quickly. Unfortunately this happens sometimes. I do my best to give users as much support as they need but I have to admit that sometimes – especially in december – I have lots to do with my paid work and this limits my time being able to spend on such support threads. I usually try to prioritize problems causing some websites to break and because of this sometimes threads like yours gets an answer much later.
Again, I am sorry because of this, I will do my best to improve.

Google Tag Assistant gives false error messages way to often. For example if you are using enhanced ecommerce and you have large product list pages with lots of products, Tag Assistant is not able to catch the hit to Google Analytics and will show you either nothing or messages like “not a standard implementation” but this does not mean that your measurement is not correct. My plugin adds data to the website so that Google Tag Manager can pass this towards a Google Analytics tag in case you are using one but I do not have any control over what implementation GTM is using to fire Google Analytics tags.

I posted an answer two days ago to your support thread, maybe you did not see: if you would contact me through my website (duracelltomi.com) I would be happy to help even after this review. I would be happy if your measurement could work and I could change your opinion regarding this plugin.
