    Hi,

    Thanks for this great plugin.

I turns out it even blocks WordPress XMLRPC brute force attacks.

I got locked out while hitting xmlrpc.php so I was forced to look through the database to release my IP.

Then I found there are two database tables, wp_lockdowns and wp_login_fails.
The last entries for both posted in April 2013. Obviously, the plugin was updated around that time and it started storing all info in wp_options table.

Sure enough, those folks who installed the plugin after April 2013 for the first time, don’t have wp_lockdowns and wp_login_fails tables.

In other words, it safe to delete wp_lockdowns and wp_login_fails tables.

I just did it, everything works fine then.

Thanks again for the great plugin.

    M.

    Thank you.

@iframe – that’s not true, the plugin absolutely uses those tables, and things will break if you delete them. You must be looking in the wrong database, or you are using some other modified version of the plugin. Hit me up at michael at endlesspoetry dot com if you would like help with debugging.

    Guys, stupid me.

In April 2013 I deactivated and deleted this plugin and switched to another plugin, Limit Login Attempts.
wp_lockdowns and wp_login_fails tables just left unused in the database.

    Sorry.
