Good plugin with two weaknesses

  • Generally a good plugin and normally fast at generating feeds. Excellent support. I’d have given it 5* review except for the two things that I think needs improving:

    1: How the fields are displayed in dropdowns. I first mentioned this over a year ago and it remains unresolved. It’s very difficult to find fields by name as they are only displayed in a non-alphabetized dropdown list, apparently arranged by field type. This makes finding the necessary field, especially custom fields, quite a laborious process.

    2: The speed or, rather, lack of, when you specify filters under “Advance Filters”. The plugin has no noticeable speed impact when you filter on attributes such as whether the product is in stock. But the moment you add “Advanced Filtering” such as excluding products that contain a certain entry in a field the plugin slows to an unusable rate, never genearting the feed. The SQL queries obviously need optimizing or something because there are ways to construct queries that don’t halt the entire process of generating a feed. We got around this by generating the feed with no advanced filters and excduing the items at Adwords’s side
