I thought I earned that extra star by giving you a nice child theme, where you can easily change the color? :)))
Perhaps my explanation will change your heart? ??
From the view point of usability, it is a good practice to make content area somehow distinct from the whole page. Some themes have white content area but sidebar is in darker area of the whole page background.
In our case sidebar and main content area share the same color space and thus visually makes one big block that might be a little bit confusing for the user.
The thought process was to give one color for the titles of content (and another for the headings of archives) and another distinct color for the “service areas” – sidebar and footer. In my view, this separates visually content from sidebar and gives us opportunity to avoid border between content and sidebar, thus giving the theme the more elegant look.
In any case, thanks for your input!
