Hey, I’m back! I saw your response and I wanted to duplicate the problem to show you a screenshot… the layout wackiness seems to have been caused because I was missing half of a two part code (one part goes in a widget, the other in the header- I forgot to add the header code, and somehow, the widget pushed things out of its way. on your theme, whereas on other themes, it simply doesn’t display. The widget is the ad widget from projectwonderful.com , in case you want to try adding the widget side-only to see what it does. I’m guessing that any 300×250 javascript box would have the same effect.
The lack of color change… seems to have been caused by my server being reeeeaaallly slowwwwww… I believe I’m the victim of brute force login attempts right now- this is slowing my sites significantly, and apparently the delay extends to the preview. I’m getting crazy 30 second to 1 minute delays, so it seemed as if nothing was happening at all.
The background thing is still an issue. If you check out some other themes (I want to say pretty much any theme).. or even sites like twitter.. you’ll notice that they have a buffer graphic between the background and the content. That way, you can have anything as your background, and it won’t interfere with the content. I wanted to use this background image:
https://subtlepatterns.com/random-grey-variations/
(you can click the center button to make it a full page preview)
Not a very good blend for any text color.
Example twitter page- crazy background, content buffer:

So, looks like 2/3rds of my issues were on my end. I’m sure you put a lot of time/effort into the theme, and you took the criticism really well. If it’s any consolation, I’ve been up about 20 hours straight now, and dealing with brute force attacks on a dozen or so websites. Looks like you’re the victim of a frustrated insomniac! Sorry bout that. I’ll see if I can revise the review.
