• I purchased the full version of wpDataTables some years ago. It worked brilliantly, allowing me to filter and present tables with 1,000’s of rows easily.

But recently when I check my website I find that the plugin has been deactivated – I have no idea how long the pages on my site have been broken! Re-activating it works fine but this is still a big issue when I don’t know how long my site has been unavailable.

On my site’s plugin screen clicking “view details” brings up a screen asking me to install this lite version – even though I purchased the full version and the purchase code is in the setting s screen!

The plugin also won’t auto-update, again something it is supposed to do when the purchase code is placed in the settings. This means a very tedious process of downloading files and uploading them over ftp for every update.

No support is available without paying a $35 support fee. I’m fine with paying that for setup support. However, when I’ve already paid a perpetual license fee I do not feel I need to pay that to resolve bugs.

  • Plugin Author wpDataTables

    (@wpdatatables)

Hi there, thank you for your honest opinion.

    1) Auto deactivating isn’t something that is caused by or built in to our plugin. Probably that happened due to some conflict during autoupdate configured in your WP?

    2) Probably you have some old version of wpDataTables full version installed? That may cause issues similar to what you described here. Current full version is 2.3

    3) Auto update should work if your purchase code is valid.

Please contact us via our full version support portal with your purchase code, you can use the prepurchase category. We would need to take a look from inside why this happens to help you fix this, so please mark the ticket as private and provide your site details.

    Thanks
