Every time you update a post, you get a green bar across the top of the editor that says “Post Updated” with a link to view the updated post. It obscures the slug editor and is very big. Also it doesn’t go away by itself. You have to click it every time if you don’t want to see it. Or want visual proof your next edit has been applied. It seems like an overly large and persistent message.

Would you consider changing this and maybe adding a smaller notification alongside the existing icons, next to the block navigator? Then it could maybe appear for 10 seconds and automatically disappear? It’s not like there isn’t already a “View Post” link in the main nav at the top of the window.

Timing the notification likely won’t happen, since you may hit publish, go to grab a drink, and come back and still need to have that status saying things went as they should.

I do know that we are working on improving the notifications approach inside the editor, but it’s not currently scheduled for the initial 5.0 release.

I hope you can think of something better than that bar. I appreciate it is not easy. Thanks for the response.
