Grey Opaque Theme — Adding/Moving a Sidebar to the Left

  • Hello there,

    I have to confess I’m a total newbie when it comes to web development. I’ve searched around for answers, and there probably are some for this question, but in my inexperience I must have missed it. Hopefully I’m not breaking any rules here for my first post!

    The question: I’d like to have a sidebar available on the left side of the page beneath the sharing info. The first footer widget area seems to be positioned correctly for this if I could just slide it up from the footer to rest beneath the sharing area. Of course, if it’s more effective to create a new sidebar and just place it on the left side, I’d prefer that if you can provide direction.

    As best I can tell, here’s the code within my style.css file that defines the positioning of the widget areas:
