    Hi there,
This looks like a potentially very useful plugin & I’d be glad to pay for the premium version but I need to know if it will work as expected. When I’m in grid view and click an image, it opens in a modal window. I do see a category input, but it’s an empty text box instead of a select box to allow me to choose a category. I can’t do much without this feature, it seems pretty essential. Here’s a screenshot of what I’m talking about: https://cl.ly/image/0x2E3w1T111c

I tried this in WP 4.0, default theme, with no other plugins installed. Is this expected behavior?

    Thanks,
    Dalton

Also, it looks like there are no bulk category options while in Grid view. Unfortunately the grid view is the WordPress default, so it looks like this plugin isn’t fully compatible with the latest versions of WordPress?

    Hi Dalton,

The category input in the modal window is not a dropdown but a comma separated list (so it is possible to assign multiple categories). The easiest way to assign / remove categories is with the bulk actions in the list view of the media library. In the grid view it is not yet possible to change the bulk actions, so at this moment only the category selection dropdown is available in the grid view.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll keep the bulk editing in table view in mind, it’s a shame that it’s not possible to hook into the bulk actions in grid view. I wonder if that’s on the roadmap for WP or if it might be something useful to add to core?

I have to say I don’t think the comma separated list for categories is a good design decision. It makes sense for tags if they autocomplete, but I don’t expect users to remember exactly how a category is spelled, leading to duplicates etc.

Would it be hard to set that field to autocomplete, or, barring that, add a filter to the plugin and let me control the input? As it stands, I’m going to edit the plugin directly to change it to a dropdown, but that makes upgrades more difficult.

    Cheers,
    Dalton
